The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) invites schools to participate in the second edition of the International Pre-University Prize – FUNIBER Research.
For the second year in a row, we are inviting schools to submit up to two projects to compete for different prizes. In last year’s edition, more than one hundred students participated and sent their research projects from different countries. See the winners of last year’s edition here.
The objective of the Price is to reward works that research transformation proposals for current challenges. We aim at reinforcing the ethics and commitment of future professionals to society and the awareness of the social impact of science. As well as promoting critical and scientific thinking among the younger generations.
Participation is open to middle-school and high-school students from any school located in countries where FUNIBER is present.
Research topics can address solutions that fall under one of the sustainable development goals of the 2030 Agenda applied to the students’ region. A proposal for a crosscutting solution or one related to one of the following areas can be chosen:
- Law and Politics
- Health, Nutrition, Physical Activity
- Education and Teacher Training
- Environment
- Business Development
- Humanities and Communication
- Engineering, Architecture, and Design
- Psychology and Human Resources
- Tourism
Registration
Registration is to be done by each school’s administration, which may submit up to two research work entries it considers most appropriate for the Prize. Schools have until March 2, 2026 to submit each research work.
Papers, original and unpublished, may be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, or English.
Prizes
The International Pre-University Prize – FUNIBER Research will grant two main awards and two special prizes.
The research work awarded first place will receive a prize of 400 dollars for the authors and 250 dollars for the school.
The research work awarded second place will receive a prize of 200 dollars for the authors and 125 dollars for the school.
A scholarship will be awarded by the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) to the professor responsible for the research work, with 70% financial aid to study an online postgraduate program and 60% to study an online doctoral program promoted by FUNIBER and certified by one of the network’s universities.
The students who win first or second place and subsequently wish to study at one of the network’s universities, whose programs are sponsored by FUNIBER, will also receive a waiver of the registration fee.
Special prizes will be awarded by the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA) and the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza International (International University of Cuanza, UNIC).
For each of the special prices, two prizes will be awarded: the research work awarded first place will receive 200 dollars* for the authors and 125 dollars for the school.
The research work awarded second place will receive a prize of 100 dollars for the authors and 75 dollars for the school.
A scholarship will be awarded by the Iberoamerican University Foundation to the professor responsible for the research work, with 70% financial aid to study an online postgraduate program and 60% to study an online doctoral program promoted by FUNIBER and certified by one of the network’s universities.
