FUNIBER highlights study that validates a tool for assessing upper limb range of motion in athletes
Álvaro Velarde-Sotres, affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences at the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) and the Department of Health at the International Iberoamerican University of Mexico (UNINI Mexico), both part of the academic network of the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), leads a scientific study that has verified the validity, reliability, and reproducibility of the OctoBalance Test (OB) as a tool for measuring the range of motion (ROM) of the upper limb, comparing it with the modified protocol of the Upper Quarter Y-Balance Test (mUQYBT). This research represents a significant technical contribution to functional assessment in sports science and rehabilitation. Read more

FUNIBER researchers develop model for detecting warning signs on social media
Dr. Mónica Gracia, international director of admissions at the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), and Dr. Eduardo Silva, executive director of the Foundation in Guatemala, are participating in an international study to develop a new machine learning model capable of detecting suicidal ideation in social media posts with greater accuracy than traditional deep learning methods. A team of researchers linked to the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) network, led by faculty from the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), has published the results of the study titled Innovative Application of Chatbots in Clinical Nutrition Education: The E+DIEting_Lab Experience in University Students.
