From the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) Social Action area, and in collaboration with the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), the Universidad Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (International Iberoamerican University of Mexico, UNINI México), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), la Universidad La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA), and the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB), solidarity was celebrated through the International Solidarity Campaign - Toy Drive held between November and December 2025. FUNIBER researchers develop model for detecting warning signs on social media
Dr. Mónica Gracia, international director of admissions at the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), and Dr. Eduardo Silva, executive director of the Foundation in Guatemala, are participating in an international study to develop a new machine learning model capable of detecting suicidal ideation in social media posts with greater accuracy than traditional deep learning methods. A team of researchers linked to the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) network, led by faculty from the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), has published the results of the study titled Innovative Application of Chatbots in Clinical Nutrition Education: The E+DIEting_Lab Experience in University Students. The article, which addresses the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the training of health professionals, evaluates the efficacy of new digital tools in the academic environment. Professors from the FUNIBER network participate in the kick-off meeting of the European Erasmus+ MAHINE project for the training of nutritionists in Angola
The Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) held, between January 19th and 23rd, the kick-off meeting of the European project Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) “Simulation-based training and digital technologies combined with a service-learning approach for experiential and reflective learning in nutrition and dietetic education” (MAHINE) funded by the European Union through the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and aimed at strengthening training, innovation, and international cooperation in the fields of nutrition, agronomy, and health. Dr. Francesca Giampieri and Fernando Maniega, members of the Food, Nutritional Biochemistry, and Health Research Group at the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), an institution that is part of the academic network of the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), are participating in an international study.
