The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), through the Social Action Area, and in collaboration with the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), the Universidad Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (International Iberoamerican University of Mexico, UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB), and the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA), organize the International Solidarity Campaign toy drive.
With the objective to mobilize our community, including students, scholarship holders, collaborators, teaching staff, and family members, we collect toys that will be destined to children in situations of social vulnerability. With this initiative, we seek to stimulate solidarity community volunteering in order to reinforce everyone’s commitment to society.
Toys are instruments that contribute to children’s development: cognitive, physical, emotional, and social. As stated in children’s rights, play and recreation are recognized as fundamental to the growth of healthy children.
How to participate?
The toy drive takes place from November 27 to December 13, 2024.
FUNIBER offers its offices, so that people interested in participating can donate toys. The universities in the network are also organizing spaces for the delivery of donations.
Toys should be new or used (if in good condition), preferably educational, eco-friendly, and non-violent. Find out here the recommendations to know which toy you can donate.
We will also receive children’s literature books and school supplies as donations.
Each office and university will make the delivery to a local institution that works with the social care of children in vulnerable situations.
Participate and give the gift of solidarity! More information here.
