FUNIBER is hosting the webinar “Service-Learning in Nursing Education in Angola: An Experience from the CLINICALSIM Project”

On April 16th at 5:00 p.m. (Spain), the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) will host a webinar titled “Service-Learning in Nursing Education in Angola: An Experience from the CLINICALSIM Project”. The webinar will be presented in Spanish by Thomas Prola, Virginia Sumbo, and Kilian Tutusaus.

Virginia Sumbo is a professor of nutrition and nursing at the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC). Thomas Prola holds a Doctorate in Education Sciences from the University of Barcelona (UB). Kilian Tutusaus is the director of Educational Technology.

In this webinar, researchers from the Erasmus Plus CLINICALSIM project will present their progress, the launch of service-learning activities with the community, and the virtual tool used in this process.

Starting in April, a community intervention project will be implemented in the village of Nissi, involving 4th- and 5th-year nursing students. Organized into eight teams, they will develop nutrition-related services for the community, with the goal of promoting healthy habits and improving residents’ well-being. To ensure proper coordination and monitoring, a virtual tool has been created to connect students with university faculty, facilitating communication, support, and the quality of the educational process.

The event is being held in collaboration with the Universidad Europea del Atlántico, (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana of Puerto Rico (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (International Iberoamerican University of Mexico, UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (UNIC), and the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA).

The conference is free and open to anyone interested in the topic. It will be broadcast live in every country where FUNIBER operates. Broadcast schedules are available at this link.
