The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) invites you to participate in the PHotoFUNIBER’26 International Photography Contest. In this eighth edition, we will award the best pictures representing the theme «social impact.»
The deadline for registration and submission of entries, through the contest website, begins this Thursday, March 12th, and will be open until April 20th, at 11:59 pm (Spain).
The following universities of the FUNIBER collaboration network are also participating in this competition: the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (International Iberoamerican Universityof Mexico, UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA) and the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB).
The contest is open to the participation of anyone who is of legal age, amateurs and professional photographers, residents in any of the countries where FUNIBER operates.
How to participate?
Contestants may only submit a single picture, which must be original and must not have been previously awarded in other contests or commercially exploited (whether for journalistic, advertising, or any other purpose). The picture may not be made by artificial intelligence or digital art, but the subject can be represented creatively.
After preselecting 100 images, the contest’s Honorary Jury, made up of photography specialists, will be in charge of evaluating the photographs and selecting the winners.
The finalist photographs will be shown on the contest website from April 30th, where a popular vote will be held until May 26th. The winners will be announced on June 25th.
Prizes
The author of the photograph chosen by the jury will receive a prize of €400 and an 80% scholarship to study one of the many postgraduate programs promoted by FUNIBER. The photograph with the most public votes will also receive a prize of €300 and a 50% scholarship to study a postgraduate program sponsored by the Foundation.
A total of six special prizes will also be awarded to the best photographs of students and alumni of UNEATLANTICO, UNIC, and UNIROMANA, and FUNIBER scholarship holders who have completed their studies or are currently completing their degree. The winners of the special prizes will receive €200 each. In addition, there may be honorable mentions.
The contest, promoted within the framework of FUNIBER’s Cultural Work, is organized with the aim of recognizing talent, promoting the participation of students from the network, and creating a space for reflection and contemplation on the world around us.
