FUNIBER, the European University of the Atlantic, and the Empresa & Clima Foundation are organizing the 5th International Climate Action Congress

The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO) and the Empresa & Clima Private Foundation (FEC) will hold the 5th International Climate Action Congress (CIACC) on July 1 and 2, 2026, an academic and professional gathering that has established itself as a leading forum for analyzing the major global challenges related to sustainability and climate change.

This congress, which will take place at UNEATLANTICO’s facilities in Santander, will bring together leading international experts, institutional representatives, and industry professionals, who will participate in various sessions structured around key themes related to climate action. Throughout the conference, issues such as the financial and physical risks of climate change in the business sector, the evolution of regulatory frameworks, the role of artificial intelligence in sustainability, as well as challenges related to decarbonization, energy security, the availability of strategic materials, and carbon markets will be addressed.

CIACC 2026 will take place in a dynamic format combining keynote presentations, roundtables, and networking opportunities, fostering knowledge exchange and the creation of synergies among participants. This multidisciplinary approach will allow for an analysis from various perspectives of the impacts and opportunities presented by the transition toward more sustainable economic models.

This edition is sponsored by the Government of Cantabria, Santander City, and EURECAT, entities that support this initiative aimed at fostering dialogue among the academic, business, and institutional sectors regarding the climate emergency.

The conference builds on previous editions, such as the 4th International Climate Action Conference, which already highlighted the need to promote innovative and coordinated solutions to global environmental challenges. In this new edition, we aim to reinforce that commitment by broadening the scope of the discussions and promoting concrete proposals that contribute to sustainable development.

FUNIBER, as the organizing institution, thus reaffirms its commitment to promoting knowledge and international cooperation. With a presence in more than 35 countries and an extensive university network, the Foundation promotes initiatives that connect higher education with major contemporary challenges, facilitating spaces for reflection and training aimed at social and scientific progress.
