FUNIBER Organizes the 1st Human Rights Conference with Several Online Events

The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) will organize, on December 9 and 10, several online events to commemorate Human Rights Day

The event is held in collaboration with the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de Puerto Rico (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana de México (International Iberoamerican University of Mexico, UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC), and the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA).

Both conferences are free and open to all those interested in the topic. It will be broadcast live in each country where FUNIBER is present.

On December 9 at 5:00 p.m. (Spain), the webinar “Communicate to Transform: Voice, Rigths, and Social Action” will be given by journalists Jesús Martínez and Corina Leguizamón. The broadcast schedules are available at the following link.

Communication plays an important role in the promotion of human rights, as it enables the dissemination of information, awareness of rights, and social responsibility. In this roundtable, two journalists will share their own experiences and what challenges they face in the current landscape.

Webinar – Justiciability of Human Rights

On December 10 at 5:30 p.m. (Mexico), the webinar “Justiciability of Human Rights” will be given by Roberto García Lara, Erika Barony Vera, and Erik Pech Lechuga, researchers and professors at the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (UNINI Mexico). The justiciability of human rights is an essential pillar of the democratic rule of law, as it guarantees that recognized rights are enforceable and protected. Latin America faces challenges arising from cultural diversity, social inequalities, and the new challenges of the environmental and digital environment, which makes its analysis and reflection in the legal sphere indispensable.

On December 10, the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (UNIC) will hold an in-person conference on human rights in childhood at the amphitheater of the Instituto Técnico Comandante Bula in Cuito for students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
