Presentations from the Prevention Area to be offered in the International Congress on Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention organized by FUNIBER

The Prevention area conferences will take place between April 16 and 18, and is one of the three fields of topic in the  7th International Congress on Rehabilitation and Prevention of Injuries in Physical Activity and Sports, organized by the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) to be held in virtual mode from April 9 to 25, 2021.

Dr. Avery Faigenbaum, researcher, and author of several books on strength training, will inaugurate this series of conferences.

Also, on April 16, attendees will be able to enjoy the conference on “Medical control for the athlete in training. Multidisciplinary work”, presented by university professor Vicente Sebastiá.

Dr. Andrea Stracciolini will speak about the female athlete, specifically on injury risk factors and improvements in treatment.

As in the previous week’s presentations in the Recovery area, injuries will be another topic of interest for the speakers this weekend. Dr. Juanjo López Martínez will address the anterior cruciate ligament injury on Saturday, April 17.

Lastly, on Sunday, April 18, Dr. Pedro Alcaraz will present the lecture “Optimization of neuromuscular work in football: From maximum strength to maximum speed”. The Prevention area will be closed by the lecture given by Dr. Tamara Rial on a common health problem in women, pelvic floor disorder, and its influence on female athletes.

Tamara Rial “The Female Athlete’s Pelvic Floor: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly”

 

The last conferences corresponding to the Performance area will take place the following weekend.

The Congress is organized together with the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), and Jam Sports, with the collaboration agreement signed between the three institutions.
