The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) participated on 25th and 26th February in a meeting held at Athens, within the project “), in which FUNIBER collaborates and which is part of the European Union’s Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships program, Enhance Skills in StartUps for wastE iN Circular Economy” (ESSENCE).
The ESSENCE project is about circular economy and is focused on training entrepreneurs trainers to implement circular economy principles in start ups. The meeting’s objective was to follow-up the developed actions and plan new ones that are to come.
On February 25th, the follow-up meeting was held in the Geological Museum of the National Technical University of Athens. In the meeting, the advances made in the project were shared and the new actions to come were planned. After the meeting, there was a diner at a traditional restaurant located at downtown Athens.
On February 26th, there was a visit to Lavrion Technological and National Park, where the National Technical University of Athens, in collaboration with other institutions is in charge of several sustainable projects: Soil recovery, landfill mining, etc. Inside the technological park, the project partners visited the facilities of some companies whose business model is based on circular economy.
ESSENCE is a project directed by the Danish-Italian Chamber of Commerce, from Denmark, whose partners are FUNIBER, the Coopération Bancaire pur l’Europe (Belgium), FVB/The Hive (Italy), the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) and the Aarhus University (Denmark).
Besides training entrepreneurs and professionals, the ESSENCE project aims to help and offer support material for the legislating institutions and bodies to promote a changing trend and evolve towards a more sustainable global market.
With this meeting, the project’s advances are followed and the correct achievement of its objectives is ensured.
