The Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (UNIC) held its first official graduation ceremony, a historic event that marks a milestone in the consolidation of the higher education system in the province of Bié, Angola. Dr. Santos Gracia Villar, president of the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), highlights an international scientific study that analyzes the use of artificial intelligence to detect diseases in tomato leaves with high precision, an advance that could significantly improve crop health management and contribute to more efficient and sustainable agriculture. The study, published in the scientific journal Sensors, demonstrates how deep learning models can identify plant pathologies at an early stage through automated image analysis. Read more

FUNIBER researchers develop model for detecting warning signs on social media
Dr. Mónica Gracia, international director of admissions at the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), and Dr. Eduardo Silva, executive director of the Foundation in Guatemala, are participating in an international study to develop a new machine learning model capable of detecting suicidal ideation in social media posts with greater accuracy than traditional deep learning methods.
