The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) is organizing the PHotoFUNIBER’22 International Photography Contest. The deadline for registration and submission of works to the contest website begins this Thursday, February 10 and will be open until Wednesday, March 2, at 23:59 PM (Spanish time).
Universities from FUNIBER’s collaborative network will participate in this contest, such as the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), the International Iberoamerican University of Mexico (UNINI México), the International Iberoamerican University (UNIB), the International University Foundation of Columbia (UNINCOL) and the International University of Cuanza (UNIC).
The contest is open to persons of legal age who reside in any of the countries where FUNIBER has a presence.
Contestants may only submit a single image, which must be original and not have been submitted in other contests or commercially exploited (whether for journalistic, advertising or other purposes). The image must be related to one of the four categories included in the contest: Nature, Heritage, Photojournalism and Abstract.
Works may be submitted with total technical and artistic freedom except in the categories Nature and Photojournalism where digitally altered photographs will not be accepted.
After a first preselection of 20 images, an honorary jury will be in charge of evaluating the photographs and selecting the winners. The 20 finalists’ photographs will be available on the contest website, where a popular vote will be held via the number of likes on Facebook. The winners will be announced on May 11.
The winner of each category chosen by the jury will receive a prize of 400€ and an 80% scholarship to study one of the postgraduate programs promoted by FUNIBER. The photograph with the most public votes will also receive a prize of 300€ and a 50% scholarship to study a postgraduate program sponsored by the organization.
Special prizes will also be awarded to students and alumni of UNEATLANTICO, as well as to postgraduate students with FUNIBER scholarships who have completed their studies or are current students.
The contest, promoted within the framework of Obra Cultural de FUNIBER, was created with the aim of making us a little more sensitive to the intelligence and creativity of human beings by reflecting on diversity, beauty, mystery and fragility of the planet, social cooperation, perfection or imperfection, solidarity and social cooperation.
