During the launch event, Battino declared he wishes “To build a strong research group. I like challenges and that is the main reason why I accept this proposal”.
The new research group, led by Maurizio Battino, will have its regular place in a lab of the Citexvi building, and it will be formed by the Ramón y Cajal sponsorship student, Miguel Ángel Prieto from Braganza; the Cuban scientist Tamara Forbes Hernández, awarded with a Juan de la Cierva grant from the University of Vigo, after obtaining the best score of Spain; the post-doc grantholder, Patricia Reboredo Rodriguez, who had already worked with Battino in Ancona (Italy); and the PhD Antía González Pereira. “I look forward to more pre and post-doc researchers joining our team during the next weeks or months. People willing to accept this challenge, not only from Vigo, since our goal is to form an international group”, said Battino.
