From the Social Action area of the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), and in collaboration with the Universidad Europea del Atlántico (European University of the Atlantic, UNEATLANTICO), the Universidade Internacional do Cuanza (International University of Cuanza, UNIC), the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University of Mexico, UNINI Mexico), the Fundación Universitaria Internacional de Colombia (International University Foundation of Colombia, UNINCOL), the Universidad de La Romana (University of La Romana, UNIROMANA), and the Universidad Internacional Iberoamericana (International Iberoamerican University, UNIB), the International Solidarity Campaign – Toy Drive was held between November and December 2023.
With the success of the campaign, we began 2024 with smiles on the faces of children in various corners of the world and with the illusion that small gestures can have a profound impact.
We thank all our collaborators, students, and employees who have participated by donating a toy, book, or school material in the 33 countries where FUNIBER has branches.
This social action was also possible thanks to the institutions that participated in the delivery of the donations. Schools, associations, parishes, social centers, foundations, NGOs, shelters, universities, and neighborhood communities have collaborated.
Each FUNIBER office and university organized locally the collection and delivery of toys to social institutions, in some cases with recreational activities and snacks.
“It was extraordinary to be able to share these moments with the children,” said Miguel Bonilla, director of the Nicaragua office.
“We were very happy to participate in such an activity. It was a rewarding experience because the children’s reaction is honest and immediate,” said Alejandra Garduño González, director of Admissions at FUNIBER’s branch in Mexico.
