FUNIBER participates in important European project for the training of vulnerable groups in Israel and Georgia

The Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER) is participating in the project “LOVEDISTANCE (Learning Optimization and Academic Inclusion Via Equitative Distance Teaching and Learning)”, which is funded by the European Union for the next three years (2020-2022).

This project aims to contribute to improving access to and quality of higher education for socially vulnerable people in Israel and Georgia.

The project focuses mainly on women, students with disabilities, refugees and vulnerable ethnic groups, who live in these two countries and who cannot, for economic reasons or because of the distance from the educational centre, attend in person. By supporting institutional capacities and by strengthening and providing student support services in both countries, the project aims to facilitate, through the development of a digital learning environment, access to quality higher education.

The project is led by the University of Porto, and 9 European partners are involved; FUNIBER will be in charge, among other tasks, of the development of the virtual campus and the learning materials for students.
