FUNIBER and the IICA sign a collaboration agreement in Costa Rica

The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) signed a collaboration agreement the 16th of July.

In the signature, the Executive Director of fundación Costa Rica was present, Claribet Morera Brenes, and on behalf of IICA, the General Manager, Manuel Otero Justo.

The aim of this agreement is to establish the foundations for a mutual collaboration between both institutions, with the objective of easing the access of employees and/or collaborators of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) to the FUNIBER’s scholarships  allowing them access to masters degrees, degrees, PhDs and specializations,  that are sponsored by the foundation.

Concretely, FUNIBER committs to granting 50 partial scholarships in every one of the Iberoamerican countries where the IICA deems appropriate to take concrete educational actions.

The Inter-Ameriacn Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) is the International Body Specialized in Inter-American System Agriculture, which has been present for more than 75 years, its mission is to stimulate, promote and support the efforts made by the Member States to achieve an agricultural development and the rural welfare via the cooperation.

With these collaboration agreements, FUNIBER continues with its strategic alliances with other institutions, in order to promote activities related to the high-quality training, allowing the population’s growth and development.

As stated by Claribet Morera during the the meeting, knowledge should be available to everyone, regardless of any barrier created by the economic background or the distance.
