FUNIBER will participate in the gala commemorating the IV Centenary of Shakespeare and Cervantes’s death in Senegal

FUNIBER Senegal will attend, next 22nd April, the commemorative ceremony of the IV Centenary of  Shakespeare and Cervantes’s death, which is organized by the Spanish Embassy in Senegal and the British Council

FUNIBER will participate in the gala commemorating the IV Centenary of Shakespeare and Cervantes’s death in SenegalThe event will be held in the facilities of the Université Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) in Dakar, starting at 16:00 h. with the purpose of commemorating the 400 years that have gone by since the death of two of the most important figures of the universal literature such as Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare.

The gala will bring together various personalities from fields such as education, politics, and from social and economic development areas of the country, in addition to the presence of the Spain’s Ambassador in Senegal, the Hon Mr Alberto Virella.

During the event, Ibra Mboub, Executive Director of FUNIBER Senegal, will explain to the guests the work of the foundation and the activities carried out in the country, being its main purpose to facilitate the access to a higher education to the population of Senegal through the FUNIBER Fellowship Program.

Along with it, he will expound to the guest authorities the recent agreement signed between FUNIBER and the UCAD so that students of the University of Dakar can access the postgraduate programs sponsored by the Foundation thanks to the Fellowship Program UCAD-FUNIBER. Also, he will highlight the will to make this agreement extensible to the rest of universities of Senegal, in order to promote equal opportunities and prevent the studies dropout for economic reasons in the population of Senegal.
