The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) will participate in the 19th MEITAL’s Annual National Online Conference “Teaching and Learning Technologies that Accelerate Higher Education: Trends and Developmnts” on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, within the framework of the LOVEDIST@NCE project in which the Foundation is a part of.
LOVE.DIST@NCE is a three-year Erasmus+ project led by the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, which aims to promote inclusive education in Israel and Georgia by expanding access to higher education for students from vulnerable and marginalized populations, e.g. religious groups, rural populations, ethnic minorities, and special needs students.
The conference is a large national meeting held annually at a MEITAL member academic institution. The program focuses on the achievements and challenges of integrating and advancing digital learning technologies in higher education, and the trends shaping the future of the field both in Israel and around the world.
In an interview with the director of MEITAL in Israel, Eli Schmueli, the specialist remarked on the importance of this event in the face of the current Covid-19 pandemic, where technologies favored society to continue learning.
“With LOVE.DIST@NCE, we are learning how to support different populations and bridge this gap between those [minority] students and other students who have more access to technology,” Shumueli noted: “LOVE.DIST@NCE has a special place since it addresses a population that needs technology and supports it.”
