Last February 15, the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) participated in a new meeting of the project of which it is part of, T-Crisis-Nav: Navigating SMEs in the tourist sector through crisis, an initiative of the Erasmus+ program (action KA203 “Strategic Alliances for Higher Education”) of the European Commission (EC).

The meeting was attended by the following project members: Julia Grey (The Vision Works) from Germany; Catherine Neill (European E-Learning Institute) from Denmark; Laura Magan (Momentum Marketing Services Limited) from Ireland; Steve Taylor and Katie Murray (University of the Higlands and Islands) from Scotland, and Íris Halldórsdóttir and Gudrun Gunnarsdóttir (University of Ayukeri) from Iceland. Local coordinator Thomas Prola was present on behalf of FUNIBER.

All project partners are currently completing their interviews with tourism organizations and other businesses related to the industry to obtain a more specific view of the adversities they have suffered due to COVID-19 and the subsequent mobility restrictions.

One of the next steps is to synthesize all the material from the literature review, reports, and interviews, a task that the members expect to complete in April.

People interested in this topic will soon be able to access the website set up by the European E-learning Institute (EUEI).  Through this website, users will learn about the main developments in the industry and COVID-19’s impact in the regions of the project participants. A Facebook page created by Momentum Marketing Services Limited (MMS) will also be available soon.

The next meeting will be held on March 29 to incorporate new tasks to be carried out and to address any issues that may have arisen.
