Last 27th February, El Salvador hosted the first presentation of Fundación Innovación y Desarrollo (FIDBAN). Remarkable institutions from the country attended the presentation, which at the end of the event agreed to support and promote the FIDBAN project thought the country, for they considered it would have a really positive effect on the country’s economy. The presentation’s host was Dr. Santos Gracia, CEO of the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) and member of the FIDBAN’s board of trustees. Dr. Gracia explained in detail the FIDBAN’s working objectives as well as how he intends to boost entrepreneurship by establishing links with International Investors Clubs and entrepreneurs from different countries -main Latin America who have appealing business projects.
The institutions that will take part in the constitution off the FIDBAN’s Organizing Committee in El Salvador are Escuela Superior de Economía (ESEN), Universidad Gerardo Barrios (UGB), la Universidad Francisco Gavidia (UFG), la Cámara de Comercio e Industria de El Salvador (CAMARASAL), Cámara Oficial de Comercio de España en El Salvador (CAMACOES), Fundación salvadoreña para el Desarrollo Económico y Social de El Salvador (FUSADES), Fundación para el Desarrollo de la Industria del Plástico (FUNDEPLAST), Dirección de Innovación y Calidad del Ministerio de Economía de El Salvador (DICA), Promotor de Exportaciones e Inversiones de El Salvador (PROESA), Ministerio de Turismo de El Salvador (MITUR) and the private business groups Grupo Educación, Transformación y Globalización (ETG) and Pagadito Group.
The FIDBAN’s objective is to be an ecosystem for innovation by boosting the entrepreneurship culture in the more than 30 countries that are accessible to FIDBAN thanks to the presence of the Iberoamerican University Foundation.
FIDBAN organizes investor rounds every three months to announce the investors interested in investing in the best presented projects. The selection of such initiatives is made by the Technical Committee of Fundación Innovación y Desarrollo, which is made up by experts in the subject. Likewise, selected projects can achieve a great international expansion by reaching all the countries where FIDBAN is present.
Cantabria (Spain) fosters the FIDBAN headquarters as well as the institutions that, together with FUNIBER make up the Board of Trusteees: Sociedad de Desarrollo Regional de Cantabria (SODERCAN), the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO) and the Center for Research and Industrial Technology of Cantabria (CITICAN).
