Maurizio Battino, the international director of the Area in Health and Nutrition of the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER), has been recognized as one of the most brilliant scientists of the planet, for the third consecutive year, by the prestigious scientific journal Clarivate Analytics.
Since 2015, Dr. Maurizio Battino has been present in the list “Highly Cited Researcher“, which is published by Clarivate Analytiics and that gathers the most cited scientists on the planet. The list includes the most cited researchers in scientific or academic papers throughout the year.
The presence of Dr. Battino in the list means the acknowledgment of the scientific community, as the scientists and researchers of the same area are those who do the citations and rank him among the most influential scientific minds of the planet.
The international director of the Area in Health and Nutrition of FUNIBER is famous for his research in the field of nutrition and studies related to the effects of plant-origin bioactive compounds on some pathologies. In particular, his research has focused on the relationship between food and aging, as well as on studying the relationship between certain types of food and periodontal diseases, fibromyalgia, cardiovascular diseases, obesity and breast cancer.
Dr. Maurizio Battino, who is 56 years old, holds a graduate in Biology from the University of Bologna, he has a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Catania and is Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila from Bucharest (Romania).
