The 2nd edition of the FUNICONCURSO “Solidarity Publication” has ended with the victory of a student from Brazil

The 2nd edition of FUNICONCURSO “Solidarity Publication”, organized by FUNIBER has ended with the victory of Brazilian student Teresa Takemura, with the text title “Crônica-Memórias”.

The second place winner was Cristina Guadalupe Morataya, student from El Salvador, with the story “Lluvia de luces”. The third place winner was Míriam Fernández from Spain, with the publication “Vitamina Fútbol”.

The prize, which consists of a donation of 1,000€ for the winner and 500€ for the second place, will be donated to an NGO “Centro-Dia para Idosos Casa do Vovô Feliz” and CESAL, respectively chosen by the winners.

The contest consisted of writing a short story between 350 and 1,000 words that would be published in a blog or digital platform, where students and former students with scholarships from FUNIBER, related their field of study with topics of solidarity.  The stories received were summarily submitted to popular vote through likes in Facebook to choose the best story.

The FUNICONCURSO has been a success in this line, with 200 students from 25 different countries registering for the contest. The students that reached the semi-finals earned a total of 3,941 votes. 3,524 votes were registered in the final phase, which decided the first three positions in the contest.

FUNIBER has not only wanted to stimulate solidarity actions within the community with this initiative, but has also extended its commitment to social responsibility, contributing values of solidarity to society with respects to the needs and challenges it faces.

FUNIBER congratulates the winners and all participants in the FUNICONCURSO that helped to share and spread the stories, with the final objective of encouraging transformative actions that solve social problems.
