The FUNI-COMPETITION “FUNIBER Opinions” has come to a close and the winner is a student from Panama

The FUNI-COMPETITION “FUNIBER Opinions”, organized by the Ibero-American University Foundation (FUNIBER), has come to a close

the winner was Panamanian student Eyleen Montero, with the text “FUNIBER, a window to new opportunities for professional training, connecting two continents through the use of a virtual platform”.

The second place went to Karen Shirley Hernández, a student from Costa Rica, with her story “It couldn’t be any easier”. Finally, the third place went to Natasha Bella Fuentes, from Colombia, with “Courage, feat or opportunity”.

The competition consisted on writing a short story of 350 to 1,000 words, in which students who have been granted a FUNIBER scholarship explained their experience in distance learning studying any of FUNIBER Postgraduate, Master or Doctorate programs. Then, all works received were subject to a popular vote by number of Facebook likes, in order to choose the best story.

In this line, the FUNI-COMPETITION has been a great participation success: 200 students representing 22 different countries registered for the contest. Students who classified for the semi-finals got 2,956 votes. In the final round, we recorded 5,076 votes, which decided the first three positions of the contest.

With this initiative, FUNIBER expected the community to share their opinions on the aspects they like the most about distance learning, how they are putting into practice in their professional lives the knowledge they have acquired, or what benefits they got from it, among others.

In addition, the contest “FUNIBER Opinions” has been a new opportunity to promote education, by writing a short story.

FUNIBER wants to congratulate the winners and all those participating in the FUNI-COMPETITION, who helped spreading out and sharing opinions about distance learning, a model used by FUNIBER to comply with its main goal: to facilitate access to higher education.
