The Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) organizes the 3rd edition of the PHotoFUNIBER’21 International Photography Contest. The registration and entry submission deadline through the contest website begins this Wednesday, February 10, and will run until March 2, at 23:59 PM (Spain time).
Universities from FUNIBER’s collaborative network will participate in this contest, such as the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO), the International Iberoamerican University of Mexico (UNINI Mexico), the International University Foundation of Colombia (UNINCOL) and the International Iberoamerican University of Puerto Rico (UNINI Puerto Rico).
The contest is open to everyone of legal age residing in any of the countries where FUNIBER has offices.
Contestants may submit a single image, which must be original and not have been awarded in other contests or commercially exploited (for journalistic, advertising, or any other purpose). The image must be related to one of the four categories in the contest: Nature, Heritage, Photojournalism, and Abstract.
Works may be submitted with complete technical and artistic freedom except in the categories “Nature” and “Photojournalism” where digitally altered photographs will not be accepted.
After an initial pre-selection of 20 images, an Honorary Jury will evaluate the photographs and select the winners. The 20 photograph finalists will be available on the contest website, where a popular vote will be held through Facebook likes. The winners will be announced on May 4.
The winner of each category chosen by the jury will receive a 400€ prize and an 80% scholarship to study one of the postgraduate programs promoted by FUNIBER. The photograph with the most public votes will also receive a prize of 300€ and a 50% scholarship to study a postgraduate program sponsored by the foundation.
Special awards will also be given to students and alumni of UNEATLANTICO, as well as to postgraduate students with scholarships from FUNIBER, who have completed their studies or are currently studying.
The contest aims to disseminate art and knowledge through FUNIBER’s Cultural Work.
