Maurizio Battino is acknowledged by Thomson Reuters as one of the most influential researchers in the world for the second consecutive year

For the second consecutive year, Dr Maurizio Battino, Director of FUNIBER Italy and Director of the Foundation’s health and nutrition area, has received recognition for Thomson Reuters as one of the most influential researchers in the world during 2016.

Dr Maurizio Battino has been included in the list of “Highly Cited Reseachers” created by the communication group Thomson Reuters, which distinguishes those researchers whose scientific work has generated the greatest and most valuable impact in their field of research.

Thomson Reuters reveals each year the brightest minds in the world, whose studies are at the forefront of research in their areas.

The list of Thomson Reuters includes more than 3,000 scientists and researchers in 22 areas of knowledge.

The work of Dr Battino, which focuses on the study of aging and antioxidants, has been recognized by Thomson Reuters as one of the most cited researches of the world.

In this regard, Dr. Battino has published more than 200 articles about bioenergetics, biomembranes, antioxidant molecules and nutrition in highly qualified and influential scientific journals.

Throughout his career, Maurizio Battino, Doctor in Biochemistry, had also been recognized in 2001 by the University of Ancona (Italy) as the “best researcher of the year”. Also, in 2008 Dr. Battino was named Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila of Bucharest (Romania).

The Director of FUNIBER Italy is also a professor at the Polytechnic University delle Marche and Scientific Director of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the European University of the Atlantic (UNEATLANTICO).
