The participants in the training project of tour operators of El Salvador, financed by the Diputació de Barcelona and headed by FUNIBER, met last June 29th in order to assess the achievements of the project.
The meeting, that has been celebrated through videoconference, has counted on the participation of the representatives of all the consortium, including the Ajuntament de Terrassa, MITUR (Department of Tourism of El Salvador), FUNIBER (Iberoamerican University Foundation), the city hall of Santa Tecla and Fantastiq Transmedia.
This meeting has been defined as part of the closing activities of the project, which concluded on June 30th. During the meeting, the activities realized and achievements reached were reviewed, along with the benefits obtained by the collective of tour operators enrolled in the project, represented by the Operator TOURBUS in the videoconference.
Among the results, we highlight the creation of 9 tourist routes by using The Sailplane and TuristIQ developed by Fantastiq Transmedia. These are tools that help to design itineraries and improve the presence in the mobile environment used by tour operators, which results in an expansion of the business activity. Such activities were always done under the supervision and training of FUNIBER, and using prior experiences from the Ajuntament de Terrassa.
As final conclusion, it was confirmed the good progress and use of the project, along with the interesting link created among both sides of the Atlantic for the potential continuity of similar experiences in the future, where the development of sustainable tourism is part of the agenda of any city hall in the world.
To conclude the activities, it was agreed to present the project to the citizenship, through a photographic exposition about the achievements during the Festa Major Solidaria de Terrassa, celebrated on July 5th.
