On June 12, the Iberoamerican University Foundation (FUNIBER) carried out in the Hotel Occidental Atenea Mar an event framed within the project called “Enhance Skills in StartUps for wastE iN Circular Economy” (ESSENCE), in which FUNIBER collaborates and which is included in the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership program of the European Union. A great number of entrepreneurs and businesspeople seeking to get to know better the circular economy principles and to apply them to their institutions attended the event.

At the event, it was discussed the sustainable management of raw materials, forecasts of the circular economy implementation in 2020 and a draft of circular España 2030, a project that pretends to establish the implementation deadlines of the circular economy in Spain by 2030. Other speeches were about the circular economy status and the waste management in Greece and about the current trends in the European Union regarding sustainability.

That encounter was specially aimed at entrepreneurs, since new companies, due to their greater versatility, can find more facilities to sooner implement the circular economy principles and to perform a sustainable waste management.

ESSENCE is a project directed by the Danish-Italian Chamber of Commerce, from Denmark, whose partners are FUNIBER, the Coopération Bancaire pur l’Europe (Belgium), FVB/The Hive (Italy), the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) and the Aarhus University (Denmark), among others.
